Undergraduate computing research offers phenomenal opportunities for passionate students eager to explore unique topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, etc. One of the reasons it is commonly overlooked by career-focused students is its barriers to entry.
Many students find research resources and information inaccessible, and the need to learn new tools, practices, and methods can create uncertainty for new undergraduate researchers. Students interested in pursuing academics, participating in research, or diving into new projects should take this course.
This course covers basic research concepts, especially as they relate to computing. The course will cover the benefits, processes, and tools of undergraduate computing research. Students will engage in class discussions, read relevant research content, and practice with tools oftentimes required in computing research.
This course will equip students with the knowledge needed to participate in the scientific process, create artifacts such as posters and publications, and be prepared to explore the various areas of research they may encounter.
